What a crown or a prosthetic does

From one rebuilt tooth to a whole bite.

A crown covers a tooth that is still there but can no longer hold itself together. A bridge spans a gap using the teeth beside it. A prosthetic replaces teeth that are gone, and it either stays in the mouth or comes out to be cleaned.

They are the same family of work: rebuilding what bites. Which of the three your case needs is a question about what is left of the tooth and what is around it, and it is answered by looking.

Ours are made in zirconia and porcelain, and they are also what goes on top of an implant once it has integrated.

It may be the treatment if

  • A tooth is cracked, worn down or heavily filled and needs covering rather than another filling.
  • You are missing teeth and want the gap closed with something fixed.
  • You wear a denture and want it remade, or want to stop wearing one.
  • You are rebuilding a whole bite and need a plan, not a tooth at a time.

Which of these applies to you — and what your case would cost — is decided in the assessment, not from a list. Ask us for one before you cross.

How we do it here

What we work in, what we can make, and who makes it.

01

Zirconia and porcelain

Those are the two materials the restorations are made in. Which of them suits your case depends on where the tooth sits and how much work it has to do.

02

Fixed and removable, both

Crowns and bridges that stay in, and prosthetics that come out. A full-bite rehabilitation usually mixes the two, and deciding where each one goes is the actual work.

03

Prosthodontics, in this clinic

Prosthodontics is the specialty that covers exactly this: rebuilding and replacing teeth. Dra. Aurora Ruiz holds it as Advanced Prosthodontics, from Universidad Valle del Bravo, and Dr. Eduardo Fernández also holds a specialty in prosthodontics. Both of them work in this clinic.

If something bothers you once you are back in Texas, the first step is a phone call to the clinic — what happens after you go home.
